Robbie Amell Will Guest Star In The Flash Season 8

Will the fury of Firestorm live again in the Arrowverse? EW is reporting that Robbie Amell will reprise his role as Ronnie Raymond in two episodes of The Flash season 8. However, story details about Amell’s Arrowverse comeback are currently under wraps.

Amell had a recurring role as Ronnie in the first season of The Flash. He was the fiancé of Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), and he was believed to be dead after the Particle Reactor explosion that created the Flash. In reality, Ronnie and Professor Martin Stein (Victor Garber) were fused into a single being through the Firestorm Matrix. Team Flash helped Ronnie and Stein gain control of the Matrix, and they were finally able to separate or combine into Firestorm at will. Subsequently, Ronnie and Caitlin were finally married.

Regardless, Ronnie and Caitlin’s happy ending didn’t last long. Ronnie sacrificed his life in the second season premiere of The Flash, leaving Stein separated and in need of a new Firestorm partner. But Ronnie’s body was never recovered, and he was only assumed to be dead.

Amell also appeared as Ronnie’s evil Earth-2 counterpart, Deathstorm, in season 2. Following Deathstorm’s death at the hands of Zoom, Amell only made a single cameo appearance in The Flash season 3 as a manifestation of the Speed Force.

Following his departure from The Flash, Amell starred in The Tomorrow People on The CW. Currently, Amell stars in Amazon Prime’s Upload, and Resident Evil: Raccoon City.

Amell’s first appearance in The Flash season 8 will be in episode 11, which will premiere in 2022.
