Power A Metroid Dread Collection

Power A is one of those accessory makers that have their hand in every console. They make accessories for the PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, with products that range from branded controllers, charges, and even console cases. The Nintendo Switch sees a lot of love from them, especially on the licensing side of things and some of their latest licensed products feature Metroid Dread. So we’ll be taking a look at the Metroid Dread Edition Enhanced Wired Controller and the Metroid Dread Edition Slim Case.

SLIM CASE – METROID DREAD EDITION

Starting off with the Power A Slim Case for the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch OLED, and Nintendo Switch Lite, this case will fit all three versions of the console. There is a foam liner included that you will use if you’re using the case for the Nintendo Switch Lite. If you’re not, then you can take the foam liner out and it will then fit the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch OLED.

The inside of the case is felt-lined to protect the surface of your Nintendo Switch, though I would have liked to see a bit more padding. The interior also has built-in game storage that is fitted to a flap that can also be used as a stand for the console. This flap can also be used to protect the screen when the case is shut.

On the outside of the case, the front has really cool, officially licensed Metroid Dread art, while the back of the case is just plain white. There are some grey accents along the top and on the zipper pull. Overall, it looks pretty nice and is indeed quite slim, making it an easy carry for those who don’t want anything bulky. Make note that there is no room to carry a charger or any other extra accessories aside from your console and 10 games.

The Power A Slim Case (Metroid Dread Edition) is available now for $12.99.

ENHANCED WIRED CONTROLLER – METROID DREAD EDITION

The Power A Enhanced Wired Controller is for those who want to game with a regular-sized controller and not with the tiny Switch Joy-Cons. I know in my case if I need to, I prefer a full-sized controller. The Enhanced Wired Controller is just that, but since this is the Metroid Dread Edition, it does it with flair and style.

The controller is mostly all white with the Metroid Dread deco on the face. It’s actually very nice looking and would be a great addition to any Metroid fan.

Aside from its looks, the Power A Enhanced Wired Controller does have some nice features. It includes a detachable 10ft long cable, anti-friction rings, and an ergonomic design. Also, the controller has rear game buttons that can be mapped to other buttons so you won’t have to take your thumbs off the sticks for certain games. There’s even a 3.5mm audio jack for a headset.

The Enhanced Wired Controller is pretty solid, but it does feel a little too light in your hands. That’s most likely due to not having any rumble motors. It still feels really good in your hands. I just wish it had a little bit more weight to them.

The Power A Enhanced Wired Controller (Metroid Dread Edition) is available now for $27.99.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Metroid Dread fans should like these accessories by Power A. They’re both pretty well made and function like they should. The Slim Case is nice for those who want something slim and easy to carry in a bag while the Enhanced Wired Controller works well for gaming and is especially nice with the extra back buttons. Both are pretty inexpensive too making this a great combo for fans.
