Michael Chandler has been making the media rounds lately as he hopes to book a fight against Conor McGregor. He also has been weighing in on the upcoming title fight between Charles Oliveira and Dustin Poirier at UFC 269.

Michael Chandler fought against Charles Oliveira at UFC 262 but has never competed against Poirier. He does pay attention to the division and is never afraid to give his opinion.

“If you’ve got to go with an actual 100 percent winner on that fight and you had to go – for me, I go with my gut – I think it’s Dustin Poirier,” Chandler told ESPN’s “DC & RC” podcast hosted by Daniel Cormier. “I think Dustin Poirier’s been destined for UFC gold for many, many years. Charles Oliveira has looked extremely impressive and he’s great in every single area, but I do think Dustin Poirier has too many tools. I think they have a similar set of skills, but Poirier’s just a little bit better in all of those areas. I think Poirier probably comes out with a later-round finish. Third-round, fourth-round, fifth-round finish.”

Dustin Poirier has been favored by many people at UFC 269 with many not yet sold on Charles Oliveira as champion. The Brazilian won the belt at UFC 262 by TKO in the second round after overcoming adversity in the first round.

Charles Oliveira defends his lightweight title for the first time at UFC 269 against Dustin Poirier. The bout is a very exciting one and many fans are looking forward to the barnburner lightweight matchup.
