If you’ve been a fan of Paramore for years, we have great news for you. Hayley Williams just teased that the band’s long-awaited comeback could finally be happening in 2022.

According to British magazine Dazed, Hayley gave a major Paramore update in a newsletter shared with fans on November 26,  looking back on the last few years of her life and thanking those who've been with her along the way. In the letter, the singer expressed her gratitude for the support she’s received on her solo projects, Petals for Armor and Flowers for Vases / Descansos, and then casually dropped a major spoiler regarding the band’s future: “Paramore can’t be ‘on a break’ forever now can we?” Hayley also signed off the letter with an inviting question: “See you sometime next year?” We hope so!

Paramore — currently made up of guitarist Taylor York, drummer Zac Farro, and Hayley herself as lead vocalist — has officially been on hiatus since 2019. However, it’s been even longer since the trio released something together. Their last album together, After Laughter, came out in 2017. However, despite the lack of joint Paramore content, Hayley assured fans that they have remained a constant in each other’s lives and creative decisions. “The guys were by my side nearly the entire process. If not actually working on the project with me then cheering me on,” she said in the newsletter.

Despite the break, Paramore has been teasing a comeback for a while now. As noted by Hypebae, back in April, Hayley had teased a new Paramore album on her Instagram, sharing a screenshot of a conversation with Zac that read “paramore 6.” Around the same time, she also said on Twitter she was “not planning on another solo album” and that she was “ready for the next Paramore album.” Both posts are now down since Hayley deactivated her social media channels in October.

While, of course, Hayley’s newsletter isn’t an official confirmation, it’s more than enough to get fans excited. And, just in case, we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for 2022.
