NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are looking to identify a man wanted in connection to an attempted robbery that occurred on a Queens subway train over the weekend, authorities said.

Just before 9 p.m., on Sunday, November 28, a 45-year-old man was approached by a suspect on a southbound 7 train entering the Queensboro Plaza subway station in Long Island City, officials said.

According to the NYPD, the suspect grabbed the victim's cellphone out of his hand and proceeded to slap the victim across the face.

Authorities said the suspect then dropped the cellphone, and the victim was able to retrieve it.

The suspect then fled off the train onto a northbound N line train.

The victim suffered minor injuries to his face as a result of this incident.

Police described the suspect as a male with a light complexion. He was last seen wearing a light colored hooded sweatshirt and a black vest.
