PlayStation 5 Finally Gets Feature Fans Have Waited For Since Launch

PlayStation 5 Finally Gets Feature Fans Have Waited For Since Launch

Even more entertainment is available on your console.

More and more consoles are replacing other pieces of tech in our lives. If you’ve got a PlayStation 5 or an Xbox Series X hooked up to your TV, gaming isn’t the only source of entertainment you can expect. Of course, you can game, but you can also stream yourself gaming too. How about watching YouTube or maybe getting some Netflix shows on - if you’ve just played The Witcher 3 it makes total sense to just watch The Witcher too right?

But for a lot of British PlayStation 5 gamers, something was missing from the set of apps you could download. BBC iPlayer. And now, after a year of waiting, the ability to watch BBC shows on-demand has finally arrived on the console.

The blog post announcing the addition explains how you can download the app right now if you want it on your PS5. “From today, PS5 owners can add the BBC iPlayer app by going to the Media tab on the PS5 home screen and selecting BBC iPlayer from the All Apps section. This will add BBC iPlayer to the apps library and make it available to use direct from the PlayStation home screen.”

The post is also quick to mention some of the shows and movies available on the service that you could be enjoying. I mean who doesn’t want to listen to Sir David Attenborough’s voice in The Mating Game or perhaps if you’re looking for something scarier, The Babadook is on there too. Of course, using the app means you need a TV license but that’s for you to sort out.

If, however, you’re an Xbox Series X player, don’t worry you’ve already got the app too if you look out for it. More Fleabag for everyone.
