Kyle Schwarber, Carlos Rodón, Eddie Rosario, Archie Bradley and Hunter Renfroe were among the players who became free agents at last year’s non-tender deadline.

Not as many notable players were non-tendered this offseason. Matthew Boyd, Robert Gsellman and Richard Rodríguez are among those who became MLB free agents Tuesday when their teams did not tender them contracts.

Who might Red Sox chief baseball officer Chaim Bloom be interested in? Here are a few names:

Matthew Boyd: The Tigers non-tendered the 30-year-old lefty who had a decent year in 2021 but underwent surgery on his flexor tendon in September. He finished with a 3.89 ERA, 4.10 FIP and 1.27 WHIP in 15 starts. He expects to pitch at some point in 2022.

Robert Gsellman: The Mets non-tendered the 28-year-old righty who posted a 3.77 ERA, 4.29 FIP and 1.19 WHIP in 17 outings (one start) in 2021. He struck out 17 and walked seven in 28 ⅔ innings. The sinker baller had a 49.5% groundball rate last season.

Richard Rodríguez: The Braves non-tendered the 31-year-old right-hander who posted a 2.94 ERA, 4.04 FIP and 0.93 WHIP in 64 relief outings (64 ⅓ innings) in 2021 for the Pirates and Braves. He struggled after the foreign substance ban. He had a 6.17 FIP and 3.1 strikeouts per nine innings after the trade to Atlanta and did not make their postseason roster.

John Curtiss: The Brewers non-tendered 28-year-old righty who posted a 3.45 ERA, 3.82 FIP and 1.22 WHIP in 41 outings (two starts) for Miami and Milwaukee in 2021. He has a 3.63 ERA 76 career outings (five starts).

Richard Lovelady: The Royals non-tendered the 26-year-old lefty who had a 3.48 ERA, 3.85 FIP, 1.06 WHIP, 23 strikeouts and six walks in 20 relief outings (20 ⅔ innings). His fastball spin ranked in the 90th percentile.

Chad Kuhl: The Pirates non-tendered the 29-year-old righty who has a 4.44 ERA in 100 career outings (84 starts). He went 5-7 with a 4.82 ERA, 5.31 FIP and 1.43 WHIP in 28 outings (14 starts) in 2021. His four-seam fastball averaged 94.3 mph in 2021.

Daniel Vogelbach: The Brewers non-tendered the 28-year-old left-handed hitting first baseman. He bashed 30 home runs in 2019 for the Mariners. But he’s only a career .209/.336/.403/.739 hitter.

Colin Moran: The Pirates designated the 29-year-old first baseman at the non-tender deadline. He was the sixth overall pick in 2013 out of UNC, slashed .258/.334/.390/.724 with 10 homers, 12 doubles and 50 RBIs in 99 games (359 plate appearances) for Pittsburgh in 2021. The left-handed hitter has a .747 OPS and 45 homers in 460 major league games.

Taylor Clarke: The Diamondbacks non-tendered the 28-year-old who had a 4.98 ERA, 3.54 FIP, 1.52 WHIP, 8.1 strikeouts per nine innings and 2.9 walks per nine innings in 43 relief outings in 2021.

Steven Brault: The Pirates designated the 29-year-old lefty before the non-tender deadline. He showed his potential in 2020 with a 3.38 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and .195 batting average against in 11 outings (10 starts). But he followed that with just a 5.86 ERA in seven starts during 2021. He missed significant time with a lat strain.
