With the holiday season in full swing, local law enforcement agencies are reminding people to take extra precautions as they venture out. Knoxville Police Chief Aaron Fuller says to prepare for potentially hazardous driving conditions.

“Plan ahead, give yourself plenty of time. Prepare for weather, be safe, be cautious and courteous. Usually the first time the snow flies and it sticks to the ground, it seems like people generally forget how to drive. Give yourself enough time, think about the things you do before you do them, let us know how we can help, whether it’s a vacation watch or whatever it might be, and have a happy holidays.”

Fuller says Knoxville residents can request extra patrol around their house when they’re away during the holidays. To request a vacation watch, call the Knoxville Police Department business office.
