If you thought Disney+ would slow down the release of content after dropping Jungle Cruise, Marvel's Shang-Chi and a new Home Alone as part of Disney+ Day last month, you'd be wrong, as they have just added medieval epic The Last Duel to the platform.

Directed by Sir Ridley Scott (Gladiator, The Martian), the thought-provoking drama has an all-star cast including Jodie Comer (Free Guy, Help), Adam Driver (Star Wars), Matt Damon (Jason Bourne) and Ben Affleck (Justice League), with Damon and Affleck penning the screenplay alongside Nicole Holofcener.

The critically-acclaimed drama is set in medieval France and is based on actual events depicted in the 2004 book The Last Duel: A True Story of Trial by Combat in Medieval France by Eric Jager – it tells a story that deals with challenging themes across three chapters, all from the different perspectives of the three main characters.

The Last Duel is out now on Disney+ for all subscribers. If you're not already signed up, you can join for £7.99 a month, or £79.90 for an entire year.

There's currently no free trial available for Disney+, but if your mobile network provider is O2, you may be able to save some money, as they are offering six months of Disney+ free for upgrading and new customers.

If you're not looking to upgrade, as an O2 customer you can add Disney+ to your existing mobile plan, and they'll give you £2 off of your monthly bill.

WATCH THE LAST DUEL ON DISNEY+

The Last Duel only released in cinemas last month, so Disney+ didn't waste any time bringing it to the service – it joins recent additions like Marvel's Hawkeye series, drama Dopesick, and the upcoming Disney movie Encanto that is set to arrive on December 24, just in time for the holidays.

If you're a fan of Star Wars, Disney+ is home to exclusive series like The Mandalorian seasons 1 and 2, and the upcoming The Book of Boba Fett, which will stream on Disney+ from the end of the year on December 29 – so there's no better time than now to subscribe to the service.
