It's been what can only be described as a rough ride for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition over the last couple of weeks.
The collection, which includes remasters of GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas, was pulled from sale on PC for a few days almost immediately after launch. Rockstar was then flooded with complaints and refund requests over the state of the game, and the trilogy briefly ended up as the worst-rated game of 2021 as a result. Ouch.
Fortunately, Rockstar is taking steps to improve things. The latest update for the remastered collection is now live on PC and consoles, and it introduces a huge number of bug fixes and much-needed improvements to all three games.

Update 1.03 introduces a range of stability improvements to ensure a much smoother overall experience - less unexpected crashes, basically. But there are new features, too, including a new cinematic camera that can be accessed by switching through the currently available camera modes.
Rockstar has also addressed some of the more embarrassing blunders, including misspelled signs and a weird glitch that caused rain to appear indoors.
The developer has outlined the full list of changes in a blog post. As well as the more general fixes for all three games, there are a number of fixes specific to each title. Given the state of each game at launch, you won't be surprised to learn that the list of individual improvements is pretty darn long. You can read the whole thing here, but the general gist is that Rockstar has taken a substantial step forward in fixing this disaster. Still, I imagine it'll be a while before anyone forgets the state Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition was allowed to release in in the first place.
