As the year comes to an end, YouTube has compiled a list of their topmost trending videos of 2021. While the world continues to grapple with the effects of COVID-19, viral content still found its way to the forefront of pop culture.

Making its wait to No. 1 in top trending videos in the U.S. is MrBeast‘s “I Spent 50 Hours Buried Alive.” Dream’s “Minecraft Speedrunner VS 5 Hunters” takes second, Mark Rober’s “Glitterbomb Trap Catches Phone Scammer (who gets arrested)” is up next and in fourth is NFL’s “The Weeknd’s FULL Pepsi Super Bowl LV Halftime Show.” MrBeast has also landed himself in the No. 1 spot for top creator in the U.S. Dream lands in fifth and Rober in seventh in this category. Others on the list include Dhar Mann, SSSniperWolf and CoryxKenshin.

Having just rolled out YouTube Shorts earlier this year, the platform is picking up steam as TikTok’s rival. Creators have quickly developed some of the most-watched content and have amassed millions of followers. Coming in first for top Shorts creators in the U.S. is Zhong with 5.98 million subscribers. Desmond Dennis in second and Dental Digest in third. For top breakout creators, fans will see Kallmekris, Ranboo Adin Live, Beluga and Ryan Trahan take the top five spots.

When it comes to the top music videos in the U.S., Poo SHiesty leads the pack with the “Back In Blood” music video. The Weeknd’s “Save Your Tears” hits No. 2 and Lil Nas X makes it on the list at No. 3 with “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name).” Other artists on the list include Polo G, DJ Khaled, Bruno Mars, Cardi B and Rod Wave.

In other tech news, Apple’s mixed reality headset will reportedly be its own standalone device.
