Nashville Police Department Arrest “The Quarter Bandit”

On November 16, 2021, the Nashville Police Department took reports of washing machines broken into in different locations in Nashville.  The washing machines were drilled into and coins removed from Walnut Apartments, Toland Height Apartments, and Melrose and Brentwood Apartments.  Video footage was obtained that showed the suspect drilling into the machines and the suspect vehicle, a black Chevrolet Colorado.

On November 29, 2021, Nashville City Officer Mackenzie Vermillion located the suspect vehicle at Wally Wash Laundromat in Nashville and made contact with the driver.

The suspect, identified as Jason Bethel, WM age 43 of Fouke, had multiple sets of keys that fit the locks on commercial washing machines and soft drink machines, a battery powered drill, and a container with quarters.

Jason Bethel was arrested and transported to the Howard County Jail for Breaking or Entering and Theft of Property.  This arrest also cleared two more cases where washing machines had been broken into during early 2021 from La Casa Dose and Howard Street Apartments.
