Prior to Sora’s debut in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate a month ago, everyone assumed that the final DLC fighter would be the last update. Apparently, that isn’t the case as Nintendo announces the incoming final update for SSBU. 

On Nintendo Versus’ official Twitter page, they tweeted about SSBU’s upcoming Ver. 13.0.1. The update includes adjustments for Sora and balances for all other fighters in order to polish the meta. Also, there will be a couple of nerfs for both Mythra and Pikachu. This is the very last time that SSBU will be working on a patch for their game. At least they still went out of their way to fully balance the game before packing their bags.

Honestly speaking, we’re only assuming that this is the final update because of some specific choices of words from Nintendo. In their tweet, they mentioned “This update includes the final fighter adjustments”, which is somehow double meaning. “Final fighter adjustments” could either be pertaining to Sora or it could be the final adjustments for all fighters.

Whatever the case may be, we’re really hoping that this won’t be the final update for the game. SSBU is a globally competitive game that requires occasional balances and fixes to keep the competitive scene smooth sailing. If they do decide to close up shop, hopefully, this final update would fully balance out SSBU’s meta.
