Cal women's golf signee Olivia Lee won the 2021 Junior European Open last week at the Alcaidesa Links Resort in Cadiz, Spain.

Lee, who signed with the Golden Bears earlier this month and will enroll at Cal next fall, registered a three-stroke victory at 10-under par.

"Olivia has been working really hard," Cal head coach Nancy McDaniel said. "It's an exclamation point on the great season that she's had, due to the hard work she has put in."

The tournament consisted of five rounds, with the top two rounds out of the first four combined with the final round contributing to each golfer's final score. Lee shot 4-under and 1-under during the first four rounds then finished the tournament with a flourish, carding a 5-under par to polish off the victory.

Lee, from Gerrards Cross, England, is a member of the England Girls Squad and a former competitor with the England Regional Squad. Earlier this year, she became the first female ever to win the Peter McEvoy Trophy, one of the most prestigious amateur tournaments in Europe.

Lee is one of three student-athletes who signed with Cal earlier this month, along with Anna Molloy, who is also from Gerrards Cross, England, and Adora Liu of Fremont.
