Jack White and My Morning Jacket top the bill for High Water 2022.

High Water will be re-establishing itself after the coronavirus pandemic took its planned April 2020 event, which was to be topped by Wilco, Nathaniel Rateliff and Brittany Howard, offline. Several artists who were booked for High Water’s 2020 iteration, including Staples, van Etten, Delta Spirit, Shannon & The Clams, Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors, Palm Palm and The Felice Brothers, will play at the festival’s 2022 installment.

The festival, which hosted its inaugural edition in 2017, did not take place in 2021. High Water’s 2018 event, the only year for which Pollstar has box office data, was topped by Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit and Band of Horses, and grossed $1.5 million.

Notably, the forthcoming High Water is the first announced 2022 gig for White, who recently revealed plans to release two full-length albums – his first since 2018’s Boarding House Reach – next year, one in April and the other in July.

While White has played occasionally under his own name in recent years – an October 2019 Detroit show supporting the Bernie Sanders campaign, a last-minute “Saturday Night Live” turn in October 2020 and gigs opening London’s Third Man Records and Warstic’s Dallas headquarters, both businesses he’s involved in – he hasn’t embarked on a proper tour of his own since 2018. White hit the road with his band The Raconteurs in 2019.

Highlights from White’s 2018 touring, when a total gross of $6.6 million landed him on Pollstar‘s year-end North American touring chart, included a sold-out play at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena that sold 14,178 tickets and grossed $855,851, and a two-night stand at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium that moved 12,694 tickets and grossed $825,440. That year, White also headlined several festivals, including Chicago’s Lollapalooza, Atlanta’s Shaky Knees, New York’s Governors Ball and Boston’s Boston Calling.

My Morning Jacket, meanwhile, staged a successful 2021 fall tour in support of its new self-titled album, released in October, which was highlighted by a sold-out date at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, Calif., that moved 7,855 tickets and grossed $471,500.

Two-day passes for the event, produced by Shovels & Rope, AC Entertainment and C3 Presents, go on sale on Dec. 2 at noon ET.
