Star Wars Black Series: Imperial Senate Guard figure revealed

The Imperial Senate Guard from ‘Star Wars: The Force Unleashed’ joins the Black Series line.

On this week’s installment of StarWars.com’s ‘Bring Home the Bounty’ campaign, we got our first look at the new Black Series Imperial Senate Guard figure. It will be part of the Gaming Greats subline and is based on the guards’ appearance in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

Imperial Senate Guard

As you can see, the Imperial Senate Guard members look like blue versions of the Emperor’s Royal Guard sans the flowing robes. Their job (as you likely already knew/guessed) was to protect the Imperial Senate in the early days of the Empire before it was dissolved by Emperor Palpatine.

Unfortunately, StarWars.com didn’t provide any additional images, but they did say that the figure is set to go up for preorder on Wednesday at 1:00 PM EDT. Like all other Gaming Greats figures, this will be a GameStop exclusive, which comes with a slightly higher price point. Thankfully, the extra cost is somewhat counterbalanced by an easier ordering process/success rate than you typically get with exclusives from Walmart or Target.

Despite my love of all things blue, it just don’t feel like a true Royal Guard figure to me unless there’s a robe involved. Will you be picking this one up or giving it a pass? Let us know in the comments!
