Jackson State is the only Division I school in Mississippi playing a football game this weekend.

Ole Miss and Mississippi State have an open week after ending the regular season in the Egg Bowl on Thanksgiving. The season is over for Mississippi Valley State, Alcorn State, and Southern Miss.

But Jackson State (10-1) will play Prairie View A&M (7-4) at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday  (3 p.m., ESPN2) for the SWAC championship.

Jackson State coach Deion Sanders is calling for fans of all Mississippi college football teams to support Jackson State as it tries to win its first conference title since 2007.

"This is one time, this is one moment where Mississippi State, Mississippi Valley, Alcorn, Ole Miss, did I miss anybody else? Who else is in here? Southern Miss," Sanders said. "All of them. We've got to unite together. You can wear your school colors, but you've got to come and represent Mississippi. We're representing Mississippi this weekend."

Sanders said he doesn't mind if he sees fans wearing colors of rival schools, he just wants as many people as possible to show up to the game.

"I don't mind if you have your Alcorn colors on," Sanders said. "I don't mind if you have your Mississippi Valley colors on. I just want you in the stands to represent because this is Mississippi versus (everybody else). That's what this is.

"And we want everybody to come together and pack this event, pack this game like they should so we can understand that the SWAC has purpose and they have presence. I think we've shown that all year long and this game should be no different."

Jackson State has averaged more than 40,000 fans at home games and has drawn more than 53,000 twice. Last week's regular-season finale win against Alcorn had 58,892 in attendance, which was more than the Egg Bowl.
