Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Hollyoaks has announced its festive period schedule, kissing a Christmas tradition goodbye for the time being.
The Channel 4 soap will no longer air 60-minute special episodes for Christmas and New Years.
Christmas-themed episodes will air on December 22 and 23, while there will be no new episodes on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve.
There will be a slightly modified schedule in between Christmas and New Year. Hollyoaks will move to a 5.20pm slot on December 27 instead of its usual 6.30pm slot, and will air at 6pm from December 28 through December 30.

The Christmas episodes will see the McQueen family facing a sad prospect as they are being evicted.
While already trying to save as much as possible to buy a new house, knowing that they might not have a place to stay over Christmas is just devastating for them.
As the McQueens' deal with Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) is seemingly over, the family protest outside the village pub in the hopes that he will have a change of heart and stop the sale so they can have a roof over their heads for the holidays.

Elsewhere, Nate Denby (Chris Charles) faces off with the Deveraux family as he searches for answers to what happened to his old flame Lisa, murdered by Toby Faroe (Bobby Gordon) last year.
Celeste Faroe (Andrea Ali) and Felix Westwood (Richard Blackwood) have been covering up the murder. However, Nate, who is an undercover cop, is starting to suspect them, even though he doesn't have enough proof yet.
According to Charles, "the storyline ramps up towards Christmas, and everything comes to a head".
Hollyoaks airs new episodes from Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look screenings at 7pm on E4. Selected omnibus episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video.
