OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A suspect involved in a violent carjacking over the weekend outside of an Omaha convenience store appeared in court Tuesday.

Omaha Police are still looking for another man who punched one of the victims. They’re not sure if the two were working together.

The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. Friday at gas station at 60th & Center streets. Investigators say Jose Galicia, 20, demanded money from the driver and passenger of a black Ford Mustang.

In video of the incident that surfaced on social media, the victims seemed to be winning the confrontation until another man came out from the shadows and dropped one of them with a single punch.

After the punch, investigators say the other guy, Jose Galicia, hopped into the car and took off. The guy who threw the big punch never got in the car, according to court records.

On Tuesday morning, the judge set bond at $25,000 on the robbery charge. Galicia remained in jail as of Tuesday evening.

So how did Galicia get caught?

In the video, the suspect gets into the car, shuts the door and lunges towards the front doors before he puts the car in reverse. He didn’t go far. Omaha police say he crashed into a parked car barely a block away from the gas station.
