Once again, Sharks fans will need a subscription to ESPN+ or Hulu if they want to watch their favorite team’s game with the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night.
Instead of being televised on NBC Sports California, as are most Sharks games, tonight’s game is the third of seven this season that will be streamed exclusively on ESPN+ and Hulu.
The game at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. begins at 4 p.m. (PT).
A subscription to ESPN+, which is streaming over 1,000 out-of-market NHL games this season, and other sports, costs $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year. New subscribers to Hulu who wish to have live TV included in their plan get a first week free, but then have to pay $64.99 per month.
Audio of Tuesday’s game can also be streamed on the Sharks’ website and mobile app with longtime play-by-play announcer Dan Rusanowsky and analyst Drew Remenda on the call.
Other Sharks games scheduled to be streamed on ESPN+ and Hulu are the Dec. 28 game in Arizona, the Jan. 11 game in Detroit, the March 15 home game vs. Florida, and the March 17 game in Los Angeles.
The Sharks’ home game with the Panthers in March will mark Joe Thornton’s first game back at SAP Center since he signed as a free agent with the Toronto Maple Leafs before the 2020-2021 season. Thornton signed a one-year contract with the Panthers in August.
Tuesday’s game is the second of the Sharks’ five-game road trip. They are 11-9-1 this season, including 6-5-0 on the road. The Devils are 9-6-4 this season.
