‘Rust’ Armorer Hannah Gutierrez Reed's Father Fears He May Have Supplied The Bullet That Killed Halyna Hutchins
Halyna Hutchins, who was killed when Alec Baldwin's prop gun that was supposed to have blanks fired a live round, might have died with the bullet Hannah Gutierrez Reed's father supplied.
According to a new search warrant obtained by RadarOnline.com, the Rust armorer's father, Thell Reed, told police he is fearful the bullet that accidentally struck Hutchins on the set of Rust may have been his.
In the latest search warrant filed on Tuesday by the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office, Thell revealed he brought live ammunition to a set he was working on with Seth Kennedy in August/September. It was not the set of Rust.
In a statement to law enforcement conducted by phone on November 17, Thell revealed the actors were taken to a firing range for training on how to shoot real guns. He claimed Seth "requested" Thell to bring live ammunition "in the event they ran out of what was supplied."
Hannah's father is a legendary veteran armorer in the entertainment industry. Seth was a gun expert that was on the set of Baldwin's western when the gun went off, striking Hutchins' in the chest and wounding the Rust director. He was reportedly given the title of "armorer mentor," overseeing Hannah.
Thell told cops he brought an "ammo can" and advised Seth there were "approximately 200-300 rounds in the can." According to the documents, after that production ended, "Seth took the ammo can and the remainder of the ammunition in the can back to New Mexico."
Hannah's dad told police the can still had ".45 caliber colt ammunition in it." When Thell tried to get the can back, Seth advised him to "write it off."

"Thell stated this ammunition may match the ammunition found on the set of Rust," the documents read.
Affiant is requesting the search warrant be approved for the "business of PDQ Arm & Prop LLC, in an attempt to search for any items of evidentiary value that will help with the ongoing investigation in relation to the death of Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust, filmed at the Bonanza Creek Ranch."
Earlier this month, Hannah's lawyer claimed she's being "sabotaged" and "framed" for Hutchins' tragic death. “We are asking for a full and complete investigation of all of the facts, including the live rounds themselves, how they ended up in the ‘dummies’ box, and who put them in there,” her attorney Jason Bowles said.
“We are convinced that this was sabotage and Hannah is being framed. We believe that the scene was tampered with as well before the police arrived,” he continued.
Hannah isn't the only one lawyering up.
As RadarOnline.com reported, Baldwin is ready to fight after being hit with two lawsuits over the shooting. The actor hired bigwig lawyer Aaron S. Dyer of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman to help defend him in the ongoing battle.
Baldwin has been accused of playing "Russian roulette" with the gun and not letting anyone properly inspect the prop before it went off.
He has continued to cooperate with police. The investigation is still ongoing.
