The New Orleans Saints quarterback conundrum continues to ramp up as questions loom regarding their Week 13 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys. When asked about the starter for Thursday's game, Sean Payton refused to reveal his hand, simply telling reporters “we'll see.”
One factor that will impact who Thursday's starter will be is the health of Taysom Hill. Hill has reportedly been dealing with a partially torn plantar fascia, per ESPN's Mike Triplett.

That may offer some explanation as to the extremely limited role Hill has played in New Orleans' offense this year. While many expected to see an increased snap count for Hill following the injury to Winston, the backup quarterback didn't feature for a single snap in the Saints' loss to Buffalo in Week 12. Trevor Siemian has been running the offense in Winston's stead, though the team is winless in Siemian's four starts.
Hill, who just recently signed a contract extension with the franchise, could be called upon in Week 13, but it depends on how his foot is feeling. The partial tear of the plantar fascia, as Triplett pointed out, is often more painful than a full tear. If Hill can tolerate the level of pain that comes with the injury, he could be ready to suit up Thursday night. If not it looks as if it will be the Siemian show once again.
This season, Siemian has thrown nine touchdown passes and three interceptions, completing 57.4% of his pass attempts. Hill has thrown eight pass attempts this year, completing seven passes. He has zero touchdowns and one interception, as well as 20 carries for 104 rushing yards and three touchdowns.
