North Platte man accused of threatening woman with knife

NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-A North Platte man was arrested after he allegedly threatened a woman with a knife during an argument.

Police said at around 9:24 p.m., on Nov. 23, officers responded to a disturbance in the 800 block of South Belmont Ave.

Police said officers made contact with the alleged victim who reported the suspect, Robert Carter, 35, had left the scene.

The victim told officers Carter had come to her residence and an argument ensued.

During the argument, the victim told officers that Carter flipped a mattress the victim was seated on, then grabbed a knife and made threats towards her and her children. 

The victim told officers Carter then slapped her in the face before leaving.

Following further investigation, probable cause was established to arrest Carter on suspicion of 3rd-degree domestic assault, terroristic threats and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony.

On Nov. 27, officers located Carter and placed him under arrest without incident. 

He was jailed at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
