Peacock is making a holiday delivery this season with the first trailer for the upcoming movie The Housewives of the North Pole. The trailer was released this week along with a new poster for the holiday film. The original Peacock movie will join the streamer’s holiday collection on December 9.
Rocking matching sweaters, the film stars Kyle Richards and Betsy Brandt. Richards is known for starring on the reality television show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and as Lindsey Wallace in the horror-slasher franchise Halloween. Brandt is also a seasoned actress best known for her role in Breaking Bad as Marie Schrader. Together, the two lead the holiday film that promises to have comedy and heart.
Set in North Pole, Vermont, the film centers on best friends Trisha (Richards) and Diana (Brandt) who have been dubbed “The Christmas Queens of North Pole, Vermont” following a nine-year consecutive win in a holiday house decorating contest. But when the friends get caught in a relationship-destroying argument just days before Christmas, their feud causes a divide across both the town and their families, catching the attention of a national magazine writer looking to jumpstart her career.
Ron Oliver serves as the director and executive producer for the Peacock original movie. Writers Tippi Dobrofsky, Neal Dobrofsky, and Spyder Dobrosky also serve as executive producers alongside Brad Krevoy, Amanda Phillips, and Eric Jaboe. Sharing the screen with Brandt and Richards are Jearnest Corchado (Little America), Kyle Selig (The Book of Mormon), Tetona Jackson (All Night), Carlos Ponce (Rio), Alec Mapa (Desperate Housewives), and Damon Dayoub (NCIS).
