NYC estate of famed Bergdorf and Gucci exec Dawn Mello sells for $2.5M

A penthouse owned by late fashion powerhouse Dawn Mello — the former president of Bergdorf Goodman, mentor to Donna Karan, and Gucci chief designer — has found a buyer.

The stunning residence, at 30 Sutton Place, is in contract; its last asking price was nearly $2.5 million.

Mello bought the two-bedroom, two-bathroom pad for $1.5 million back in 2003 and spent two years renovating it.

A landscaped terrace wraps around three sides of the apartment (in a Rosario Candela pre-war building that dates to 1929) and offers stunning views, according to the listing from Brown Harris Stevens’ Martha Kramer.

Mello previously owned the penthouse at 3 E. 84th St. — Doris Duke’s former digs, which Mello bought in 1998 for $1.35 million — and sold to buy this place.

Now that’s style.
