Luke Hughes Blog Michigan

It's been a big day for the Hughes family and the Devils.
First, it was announced this morning that Jack Hughes would be returning to the Devils lineup after missing 17 games with a dislocated left shoulder.
Now, his younger brother,
Luke, has been named to Team USA's preliminary roster
for the upcoming 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship. Hughes, and 30 other players, will compete for a roster spot for the yearly tournmanet, which takes place in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta from Dec. 26-Jan. 5.

An injury held him out of last year's World U-18 Championship.
Luke, who was the Devils' first-round selection (fourth overall) last summer, has been enjoying his first collegiate season with Michigan, posting seven goals, 15 points and a plus-14 in 16 contests.
Hughes, who won a silver medal with Team USA at the 2019-20 World U-17 Hockey Challenge, has played the last two years with the U.S. National Team Development Program. He led USNTDP defensemen in points per game after posting 34 in 38 contests.
