After being cancelled last year due to the pandemic, the 2021 Hero World Challenge is back and will tee off from Albany Golf Course on Thursday. The Tiger Woods-hosted event features an exclusive field of 20 golfers, including major winners Justin Thomas, Rory McIlroy and Collin Morikawa. Thus, deciding which golfers to make top PGA DFS picks for this week will be extremely challenging given the quality of the field.

The aforementioned golfers are the three most expensive options on both DraftKings and FanDuel, so rostering them means you'll have to search for value elsewhere. The key to constructing a winning 2021 Hero World Challenge PGA DFS strategy is by finding undervalued golfers who could give you the most bang for your buck. With such a top-heavy but small field, who else should find a way into your daily Fantasy golf lineups? Before you enter any PGA DFS tournaments or cash games for the Hero World Challenge 2021, you'll want to see the latest daily Fantasy golf picks, advice and player pool from SportsLine's Mike McClure.

McClure is a DFS pro with nearly $2 million in career winnings, and he's been red-hot on his PGA Tour picks this season. McClure is also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every tournament 10,000 times, taking factors like statistical trends, past results and current form into account. This allows him to find the best PGA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They're a must-see for any PGA DFS player.

In addition, McClure's model is up almost $10,000 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament. This same model has also nailed a whopping seven majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Top 2021 Hero World Challenge PGA DFS picks

One of McClure's top PGA DFS picks for the Hero World Challenge 2021 is Jordan Spieth at $8,300 on DraftKings and $10,400 on FanDuel. Spieth is one of two former Hero World Challenge winners in this year's field as he shot 26-under par in his 2014 victory. His score of 262 and 10-stroke margin of victory are both tournament records.

That performance was just one of several impressive showings Spieth has had at the Hero World Challenge. He also placed fourth in 2016, sixth in 2017 and third in 2018. That was when Spieth was at the top of his game, and while he fell off in the ensuing years, he bounced back in 2021 and ranks sixth on the money list rank. His 2021-22 PGA Tour season is already off to a strong start as he ranks sixth in scoring average (67.50), so he's poised to shoot a low number at Albany Golf Course.

McClure's optimal PGA DFS strategy also includes rostering Viktor Hovland ($9,900 on DraftKings, $10,200 on FanDuel). He is one of the few in the 2021 Hero World Challenge field who has already claimed a win in the 2021-22 PGA Tour season. The Norwegian was victorious at the World Wide Technology Championship in early November, to give him back-to-back wins at the tournament. That was the last event Hovland competed in so he'll carry that winning feeling with him into the Hero World Challenge 2021.

Hovland is stroking the ball as well as any point in his career and ranks third in greens in regulation percentage (76.39 percent) and fifth in driving accuracy percentage (72.62 percent). While it is a limited sample size, Hovland is one of just two golfers ranking in the top five in both statistics.

He was impressive in all facets of his game last season as well, finishing ninth on tour in strokes gained: total (1.316). With his recent form and sustained high level of play, you can see why McClure is high on Hovland.
