Avatar: The Last Airbender Aang Actor Shaves Head for Netflix Series

We already know that the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series is now in production and that means the cast is now getting ready for their exciting new roles. So it's no surprise that newcomer Gordon Cormier has taken the first step in playing Aang in the Netflix show: The young actor has finally shaved his head.

One of Aang's most distinct features are his head tattoos which are displayed by his shaved head. Although he grows his hair out in the third season of the animated show, the young Avatar later shaves it again as he prepared for the fight against Fire Lord Ozai. Not surprisingly, we'll be seeing an equally bald Aang in the upcoming live-action series.

Gordon Cormier has shared a few photos on his Instagram account. The images show the young actor with Avatar: The Last Airbender co-star Ian Ousley, who will play Sokka in the show. Although Cormier is wearing a hat, it's pretty obvious that he is hiding his shaved head. Check it out below.

We're loving the new look on Cormier and we can't wait to see what he would look like with Aang's tattoos. Hopefully, we'll be getting more photos in the future.

Cormier and Ousley were two of the four main cast members who were announced back in August. They will be joined by Kiawentiio as Katara, Dallas Liu as Zuko, Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Uncle Iroh, Lim Kay Siu as Gyatso, and Ken Leung as Commander Zhao.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is currently in production and has not yet been given an official release date. However, the live-action series is already expected to premiere on Netflix sometime in 2022. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
