The full cast for ABC’s upcoming Live in Front of a Studio Audience: The Facts of Life special has been announced, and it’s a truly star-studded affair. Jennifer Aniston, Gabrielle Union, Kathryn Hahn, and Allison Tolman will play the iconic private school girls at the center of Facts of Life, who occasionally cross paths with characters from Diff’rent Strokes.
Aniston will play Blair (originally portrayed by Lisa Whelchel), Union will play Tootie (Kim Fields), Hahn will play Jo (Nancy McKeon), and Tolman will play Natalie (Mindy Cohn).
Ann Dowd will also appear as Mrs. Garrett (originally played by Charlotte Rae), the girls’ housemother.
“I cannot imagine a better group than Jennifer Aniston, Allison Tolman, Gabrielle Union, Kathryn Hahn, and Ann Dowd, and I can’t wait to do their hair,” executive producer Jimmy Kimmel said in a statement.
The Facts of Life special will be paired with a recreation of the sitcom Diff’rent Strokes, which will star John Lithgow and Kevin Hart as Mr. Drummond and Arnold, respectively. Jim Burrows and Andy Fisher will direct the double-header, while Kimmel and Norman Lear will host.
Live Before a Studio Audience is executive produced by Lear, Kimmel, Brent Miller, Kerry Washington, Will Ferrell, Justin Theroux, Jim Burrows. Its producers include Kimmelot, ACT III Productions, Gary Sanchez Productions, D’Arconville, Simpson Street, and Sony Pictures Television.
The Live In Front of a Studio Audience series began in spring of 2019. ABC previously recreated episodes of the sitcoms All in the Family, The Jeffersons, and Diff’rent Strokes.
Live in Front of a Studio Audience: The Facts of Life and Diff’rent Strokes will air on ABC on December 7 at 8 p.m., before streaming on Hulu the following day.
