Fantasy Injury Updates: Latest news on Darrell Henderson, Alvin Kamara, Jordan Howard, more affecting Week 13 RB rankings

Running backs Darrell Henderson, Alvin Kamara, Jordan Howard, and Mark Ingram all have cloudy statuses heading into the weekend, and Week 13 fantasy RB rankings will be affected by their availabilities. Naturally, other RBs will move up and become viable fantasy options, so it's important to monitor the latest updates as they roll in.

Darrell Henderson injury update

Henderson (quad) will need to be monitored this week, but it doesn't appear he suffered a serious injury in the loss to the Packers. We've seen several guys miss time will quad injuries, so the possibility exists he'd be out of action against the Jags in Week 13. If that's the case, Sony Michel would assume a full workhorse role, but it's worth noting Jacksonville is decent against fantasy RBs, so this should be viewed as a neutral matchup.

Henderson currently ranks as our RB15 in PPR and RB16 in standard leagues. If he's out, Michel would rank in a similar spot.

WEEK 13 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Alvin Kamara injury update

Kamara (knee) was limited during Monday's practice, and this should be a quick developing "story" as the Saints face off with the Cowboys on Thursday night. We won't speculate, but practice reports later in the week will help us get an idea of his status. He's not dealing with anything too major as far as we know, so perhaps the three-game absence has been enough for him to return.

Dallas is a top-five unit against fantasy RBs, so Kamara ranks as our RB10 in PPR and RB11 in standard leagues. Of course, his upside is higher, but his productivity could be hindered by his knee, and his stats with Taysom Hill at QB last year weren't very impressive. If he remains out, Mark Ingram or Tony Jones Jr. will be the lead RB, but they'll have a difficult path to success in the matchup.

WEEK 13 PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker

Jordan Howard injury update

There isn't much news on the status of Howard (knee) just yet, but he could realistically return this week since the Eagles opted not to put him on IR. However, they are coming up on a Week 14 bye, so it would make sense to give him Week 13 off.

For now, we don't have Howard in the rankings, but if he does play, it will be against the worst defense against fantasy RBs (Jets), so he'll have real flex/RB2 appeal, especially in standard leagues.

Mark Ingram injury update

Ingram (knee) was a full participant in Monday's practice, so that's a positive sign for his Thursday availability against the Cowboys. As we discussed with Kamara, though, Dallas has a top-flight rushing defense and Ingram is matchup dependent at this point in his career. If Kamara is out, you may have to start Ingram anyway, but his fantasy outlook doesn't look great.

If both backs play, Ingram is our RB30 in standard and RB36 in PPR leagues. If Kamara doesn't play but Ingram does, he'll be viewed as a low-end RB2. If Ingram and Kamara are both inactive, Tony Jones will probably be ranked outside the RB2 range.
