Singer Cardi B, a native New Yorker, announced earlier this month that she had moved into her dream home in the Big Apple, but contrary to what she says, her not so humble abode is actually located in New Jersey, according to online reports.
The nearly $6 million, 2-acre property is located in Tenafly, according Realtor.com.
“Me and my husband have always dreamed of having a crib in NY, and we have decided to add to our portfolio of homes, along with Atlanta and LA. Now having a home in NY, I can have get togethers with my family all the time,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
She closed on the house on Sept. 17 for $5.85 million, and is spending more than $1 million on improvements, the New York Post reported.
The home has nine bedrooms and nine bathrooms, with more bedrooms located in the guesthouse, according to the Post report. It also features 10-foot-high ceilings with a movie theatre, a temperature-controlled wine cellar, a gym, a powder room and a wet bar, the report said.
While it may not be in New York City, the lavish home is just 25 minutes to Washington Heights, where Cardi B grew up.
