BEDFORD – The Bedford Boys club was originally established in 1940 to help the young boys of Lawrence County find comfort and guidance following the “Great Depression.”
One young man, who was truly heartened and enriched by his involvement with the Club was Charles E. Lynn. Charles was born July 30, 1937, and sadly passed away on February 5, 2021.
Charles was a member of the club during the late 1940s and early 1950s. Charles was a lifelong Lawrence County resident and a big advocate of the importance of the club. He often shared his fond memories of the time he spent at the Club and the guidance of his mentors that left a lasting mark on his life.
The club influenced him so greatly, he wanted to make an impact on future generations of young boys and girls who walk through the same Club doors as he once did.

The Estate of Charles E. Lynn is honored and privileged to contribute to an organization that played such a positive part in Charles’s childhood life within the Lawrence County community leaving a legacy for future members. Through his gift more than 250 youth will be impacted.
The Heritage Club is a National Individual Giving Society of donors for Boys & Girls Clubs from across the Movement who have included their local Boys & Girls Clubs in their estate plans. Support through a planned gift will ensure that future generations of kids across America will have the opportunity to live successful lives in a safe, positive, and caring environment. We currently have 1349 registered members for afterschool programming and athletics. Gifts of this
magnitude can provide all aspects of our afterschool and athletics programming for 250 or more
members for an entire year. What an amazing gift that will further our mission to enable all
young people, especially those who need us the most, to reach their full potential as productive,
caring, and responsible citizens.”
