Ohio Genealogy Society’s Lorain County Chapter to hear about coroner’s records

The Lorain County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogy Society will meet Dec. 13 in an online meeting that everyone is invited to attend.

Judy Russell, a lawyer and genealogist, will present “Death By Undue Means — Coroner’s Records.”

This program will discuss coroner’s records from colonial times to today, death that is not attributable to natural causes required investigation, according to a news release. Elected or appointed coroners worked with local juries to determine more about what caused each death. Attendees will learn more about coroner’s records and how to use them in genealogy.

The online program begins at 7 p.m. and is open to members and the public. Those interested in watching the presentation should contact meetings@loraincoogs.org  to be added to the invitation list and receive the online link.
