NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The ceiling collapsed on firefighters who were working to put out a four-alarm blaze in a building on the Upper East Side early Tuesday, according to authorities.
The fire broke out at approximately 5:15 a.m. in the five-story building on First Avenue, at the corner of East 95th Street, according to the FDNY.
The flames apparently broke out in the Dragon One restaurant on the ground floor before spreading to a neighboring Domino’s pizza restaurant and then up to the apartments above.
Part of First Avenue was closed due to the fire and drivers were advised to expect traffic delays in the area.
At least three firefighters were treated on the scene. Their condition remains unknown.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known and an investigation is ongoing.
