On Sunday, November 28th, 2021 Paris Saint – Germain placed an emphatic beat down on Saint – Etienne with a final tally of 3 to 1. PSG’s superstar striker Lionel Messi recorded 3 – assists in the match helping lead Paris Saint – Germain to the victory as well as the 12 – point lead at the top of the French League.
During the 23rd – minute of play in snowy field conditions Saint – Etienne opened the scoring in this game when Wahbi Khazri passed to Timothee Kolodziejczak whose sweet little shot was blocked by the Paris Saint – Germain goal – tender, Gianluigi Donnarumma, but unfortunately for PSG the loose ball rebound came out to Denis Bouanga who just so happened to bury the second attempt for a solid goal.
Paris Saint – Germain nailed the equalizing goal around halftime when Marquinhos headed in a goal score of his own on a nicely – placed free kick taken by Messi. Paris Saint – Germain then took the lead in the 79th minute when Messi set up Di Maria with a pass that Di Maria sent in a curling shot to the far corner of the net for PSG’s second – goal of this match.
Finally, during stoppage time Messi crossed to Marquinhos who used his head once again as he outjumped the Saint – Etienne player, Miguel Trauco, for Paris Saint – Germain’s third and final goal score of their dominating win last Sunday in France.
Injury to Neymar
Although it was extremely encouraging that the Paris Saint – Germain star made his debut in his return from injury to look good on the field, help his team, and play well the entire 90 – minute plus match, PSG also lost their superstar veteran Brazilian striker, Neymar, for approximately the next 8 – weeks due to injury.
During the 87th – minute of play, Neymar went down after twisting his left ankle badly. Neymar suffered a severely sprained ankle as well as torn ligaments, and he had to be stretchered off of the pitch following the play that sent him down to the ground in obvious pain.
Ever since Neymar joined the Paris Saint – Germain football club in 2017 after he signed a world record 222 million euro – contract he has been injured quite often. Neymar endured a left ankle injury in December of 2020. He has suffered rib, groin, and adductor injuries as well as a broken right – foot way back in 2018.
Neymar needs to stay healthy and remain on the field for Paris Saint – Germain if he wants to earn that astronomical $250 million contract that he agreed to several years ago
