In last week’s episode, “Chapter Ninety-Seven: Ghost Stories,” two more characters were killed off in Riverdale season 6. Toni went the way of a legend, transforming into La Llorona herself in exchange for sparing Baby Anthony’s life. Reggie’s father died off-screen by way of illness.

So far the “Rivervale” event has claimed the lives of three Riverdale characters. Since Archie’s not expected to remain in the grave for too much longer–especially considering his face appeared on the side of Jabitha’s milk carton in a missing persons announcement–we doubt we’ll be too long without Toni Topaz either.

However, we do expect the body count to keep climbing especially since the Devil will be making his way to town in “Chapter Ninety-Eight: Mr. Cypher.”

The episode appears to be Veronica and Reggie centric judging by the trailer. It seems their joint venture on a casino for the town has come to fruition. A celebratory soiree will certainly be in order which should bring some unexpected guests to Rivervale.

One uninvited person looks to be Betty’s nemesis, The Trash Bag Killer. Riverdale season 5 ended without that storyline coming to a close. Will Betty finally apprehend the serial killer? We’ll have to watch and see.
