Is Meena the worst soap serial killer ever?

It’s like the actress thinks she is in a panto ( oh no she doesn’t)

There is no fear to her character , and just find myself laughing at her attempts to go menacing

    I don’t think we’re meant to find her fearful though, are we? The story has definitely been played differently and Meena is a different type of serial killer than we’ve really seen before and for that I think she’s one of the best.

    One of the best. Played for amusement. A bit like Stapey.

    The whole of soap has a pantomime element and is full of ham acting. so I have no idea why certain people get singled out.

    define worst soap serial killer? as opposed to best soap serial killer...

    I don't know, just too much pantomime baddie at times - only needs a twirly moustache. Her behaviour is just ridiculous, how she always happens to be about or overhearing. Still difficult to fathom out how no-one has caught her out yet.

    She's definitely becoming more unhinged lately though and think Billy needs to be very wary of her and her motives.

    So far her success rate is about 90% . So she's meeting her targets :tongue:

    I find it best to just view it as an attempt at black comedy.

    She's the ONLY reason I keep watching. I think the actress is great at acting Meena. She gets me on the edge of my seat. Black comedy style, I agree. But she sure is menacing.

    She's the worst to some, and one of the best to others. I'm loving the absolute campness of the character, the audacity of her and the complete lack of conscious, compassion and empathy. Quite possibly the only decent storyline in Emmerdale for me right now.

    That is a good comparison - John Stape. It isn't meant to be a scary/serious/true crime serial killer. And it is strangely enjoyable, having a purely soapy entertaining storyline and you can tell Paige Sandhu/Meena is having fun with it.

    She's only the worst in that there's still loads of deadwood in that village that she needs to get rid of. Come on Meena, get a move on! I hope she goes for a double or triple murder next :D

    Hating on Meena is one thing (not real so fair game) but unless they're fcuked in the head I really don't think anyone here actually hates Paige Sandu at all. :/

    The the only thing I've seen from folks on here when mentioning Paige is criticism of her acting method/style but I've never actually seen actual hatred aimed towards her personally at all. :/

    Surely folks are entitled to criticise her acting method no? Criticising someone and their work isn't the same as hating them.

    I criticisie the current Big 3 Producers all the time but I don't HATE them personally, I just don't like their work

    It's really nothing personal. :/

    So long as you disband any expectation of realism, MEANa is an hilarious, high camp villain and hugely entertaining. For those who like their psychopaths more serious, I get the frustration. The actress is following a script and a Director, so I would say the tone is a deliberate one. Enjoy her while she's around I say.

    exactly, the bit where she gets the toy bear to wave up at the sky was just so stupid and how come nobody saw her, the swinging of the baseball bat shocked Wendy (I think - hard to tell as Wendy's face never really changes from a winge face) but still Wendy never questioned why she swung it so viciously. The way she swaggers about all she needs is a curly moustache

    It is surprisingly poor when you kill somebody off as the main actor quits. none of the cast members are around and the place of the killing will not open till 11 allowing the killer to go unnoticed, so when it opens everybody starts work, not preparing for activities or anything. very silly,

    If people hates Meena it's job well done. She does play her character so well. That's what I like about Meena she is one of the soap super bitch. She will get her comeuppance at some point. I'm look forward when she does.

    Can I ask, I saw a video online of Meena doing an aggressive exercise regime in front of Brenda, whereby she continuously pushes her hands into the sky - Did this actually happen or did someone edit the footage 😂?
