EastEnders star James Farrar has welcomed his first child with wife Ali Roff.

Late last week, the actor, who plays Sharon Mitchell's brother Zack Hudson, took to his Instagram Story to announce the little one's arrival. He shared a photo of the baby alongside the caption: "Life will never stand still again and nor will I! #bobbinglife."

The 34-year-old and his partner, who are choosing to keep their child's gender and name private for now, tied the knot four years ago. Before that, they are said to have dated for nine years.

Ali, an author and Wellness Director at Psychologies Magazine, confirmed they were expecting back in July, as she posted a selfie of the couple where her growing belly was clearly visible. "Mama and Papa #babylove #firstbumppic #love," she wrote in the caption.

Back in October, James celebrated their pregnancy by reminiscing on the 15 years he's known "soul mate" Ali and recalling how they first came together romantically.

"Every day I learn something new from you. I've never met anyone with such intelligence. Especially emotional," he gushed on social media. "I fell for you hard – I loved partying with you – and you're an absolute sort. However, falling in love with you was down to your awareness of this world.

"The mad social conditioning. Behavioural traits, brought on by trauma, and their triggers. How we communicate is why we thrive. And you've taught me that." James continued: "She lives her truth, through conscious awareness and brave acceptance, and manages to lift others with it too.

"We have both come from parents that gave us time and love. My dad taught me how to be a lad that could be vulnerable. Your mum taught you how to be a woman, to lead a family and break the patriarchy. Most important of all, we felt seen by our parents.

"Our baby comes into a world where fear is conditioned, but there will be none of this at home. You will learn from your grandparents, aunties and uncles to be fearless. But most importantly, you’ll learn this from your incredible Mummy.

"I have just seen Ali go through a 9 month pregnancy; working full-time, smiling, dancing, singing, laughing. Seamless. I will adore our child, but continue to adore your magic Als," the former Hollyoaks star added. "You've impressed me more than ever through this pregnancy.

"We were both a product of our surroundings, so for baby to see how we support each other will be the perfect education. I'm blessed to be able to bring a baby up with someone with such courage, which I believe is down to your unfaltering faith in something bigger than us. And your ability to remind me, always, that "something wonderful is about to happen".
