Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège Announces Cast Change for ‘Hulda

The Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège has announced a cast change for its upcmoing performances of Franck’s “Hulda.”

The orchestra announced that Isabelle Druet will no longer perform Hulda’s Mother. As a result, Marie Karall will perform the role.

Karall is a well-known mezzo-soprano who has performed at the Chorégies d’Orange, Bordeaux National Opera, Montpellier National Opera, Toulon Opera, Latvian National Opera, and Theater Dortmund. This season she is set to appear in Graz and Rhin in productions of “Madama Butterfly” and “Nabucco.”

Karall joins a cast that includes Jennifer Holloway in the title role, Véronique Gens, Judith van Wanroij, Marie Gautrot, Ludivine Gombert, Edgaras Montvidas, and Boris Pinkhasovich. Gergely Madaras leads the concert performances at the Salle Philharmonique in Liège on May 16 and 17 and the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées on June 1, 2022.
