The Powerball jackpot for Monday’s lottery drawing has climbed to an estimated $253 million with a cash option of $178.9 million.
The winning numbers were: 18, 26, 28, 38 and 47. The The Powerball drawn was 17 with a Power Play of 2x.
While no one across the country hit Saturday’s $243.3 million Powerball jackpot, a pair of second-prize tickets were sold, including one in New Jersey.
A ticket purchased at Walmart in Linden is worth $1 million while one sold in California is valued at $1,675,676. California lottery prizes vary depending on ticket sales and number of winners. They differ from the fixed second prizes offered in other participating states. Both second-prize tickets matched five numbers, but not the Powerball.
Saturday’s winning Powerball numbers were: 8, 32, 55, 64 and 66. The Powerball drawn was 10 with a Power Play of 2x.
In addition, no one hit the secondary, $10 million Double Play drawing on Saturday. There were also no second-prize, $500,000 tickets sold. The Double Play numbers drawn were: 7, 11, 19, 31 and 58. The Double Play Powerball was 14.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 of winning the third prize of at least $50,000.
Powerball is played on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, Washington D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
