Born in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Joe Almond and Zula Mills Almond.

HENDERSON — Beverly Almond Allen, 68, of Henderson, North Carolina, passed Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2021, at Kerr Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Joe Almond and Zula Mills Almond.
Mrs. Allen was a member of West End Baptist Church. She was also a member and former president of the Granville Gardeners, and was a N.C. State Extension Master Gardener. In addition, she served as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader for many years.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Thomas Edward Allen; two sons, William Joseph Allen and Nicholas Alexander Allen; one brother, Larry Joe Almond Sr. (Donna); one sister, Jovaughn Almond Fisher (Butch); and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, at 2 p.m., at Sossamon Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Frank Sossamon. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Another funeral service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at 2 p.m., at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel in Albemarle, North Carolina. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. Flowers may be accepted, or honorary donations may be made to the Sarcoma Foundation of America, the N.C. State Extension Master Gardener Program of Vance County, or the Granville Gardeners scholarship fund.
