The Jamaica Fire Department and 12 other fire departments responded to a house in Jamaica Thanksgiving night.

According to the Jamaica Fire Department, the fire occurred at 6:33pm at 300 2nd Avenue in Jamaica. Assistant Fire Chief Bob Kempf says the house was reported to be a total loss. He says they believe the fire started in the garage of the house and there were two occupants in the home during the fire and they were able to escape unharmed.  Kempf adds the cause of the fire is undetermined due to the amount of damage to the residence.
