Step Up Gallery: Santa Fe Pleinairians ‘Gift Of Small Paintings’

An art exhibit designed for holiday gift shopping runs Nov. 24, to Jan. 2 in Step Up Gallery at Mesa Public Library, 2400 Central Ave., in downtown Los Alamos.

An informal group of plein air painters called the Santa Fe Pleinairians are exhibiting more than 75 framed paintings in oil, pastel, gouache and watercolor in smaller sizes perfect for holiday gifts.

The artists include some of the most accomplished plein air painters in New Mexico: Wendy Ahlm, D. Nelson Barnhill, Carole Belliveau, Barbara Bodin, Catherine Corum, Valerie Cordaro, Cindy Fry, Garcia Loehr, Carol Gisler, Phyllis A. Gunderson, Richard Guzman, Kat Hansen, Ann Jenemann, Ann LeMay, John Meister, Lynn Murray, Betsy Pierce, Cecilia Robertson, Linda Santistevan, Mary Kaye Sawyer, Marcia Soderman, Diane Stoffel, Monika ten Bruggencate, James Trigg, Stephanie West, Marilyn Wightman, Marcia Williams and Dick Wimberly.

The exhibit is open for viewing during regular library hours. The library and gallery are closed Sundays and holidays.

The gallery manager will be onsite 1-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays to assist anyone who finds a painting to purchase. During those hours, shoppers can get help with the online purchasing process then take their packaged-up painting home the same day. 

Purchasing the paintings can be done safely online anytime with a bank card. Shoppers may choose to pick-up their painting at the gallery or have it shipped. Two views of each painting and details about media and size are available at: https://stepupgallery.artspan.com/carousel.php.
