Boston College and Jeff Hafley have agreed on a five-year contract extension that will keep the head coach in the program until 2026, a source confirmed to The Athletic. Hafley replaced former Eagles coach Steve Addazio ahead of the 2020 season.

Hafley, 42, finished his first season at the top with a record 6-5, becoming the most senior college football coach in 2020. He joined Boston College from the state of Ohio, where he was co-defensive coordinator for a Buckeyes team that won the Big Ten championship in 2019.

The Eagles finished the 2021 regular season with a 6-6 record.
