ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s basketball team concludes its November schedule on Tuesday with the resumption of the Rio Grande Rivalry at New Mexico State. Tipoff at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces is 7 pm. and the game will be available to watch online on ESPN+ and broadcast on the Lobo Radio Network.

The series dates back to 1904 and the teams played at least twice every season from 1945-46 to 2019-20 before last year’s meetings were cancelled due to the pandemic. The Lobos lead the series 122-102 and won both meetings in 2019-20, 78-77 in Las Cruces and 69-62 at The Pit.

The Lobos (4-3) are looking to snap a two-game losing streak after losses last week to UAB and Towson in the Las Vegas Invitational. Jamal Mashburn, Jr. scored a career-high 26 points in both games of the tournament and leads the Lobos in scoring at 20.6 points per game. Jaelen House is second on the team in scoring at 16.3 points per game and leads UNM in assists at 4.5 per game.

The Aggies (5-1) are undefeated at home this season with victories over UC Irvine, UTEP and New Mexico Highlands. NMSU also had a third-place finish at the Myrtle Beach Invitational. Nebraska transfer Teddy Allen leads the team in scoring at 15.8 points per game.

New Mexico and New Mexico State meet again on Dec. 6 at The Pit, marking the first time since 2012-13 that the Lobos will play the Aggies in consecutive games. The game begins a six-game homestand that spans the entire month of December for UNM.
