New Clip for THE WITCHER Season 2 Features Geralt Battling a Horrific Creature
Netflix has released a new action clip from The Witcher Season 2, and it features Henry Cavill’s Geralt battling a nightmarish new creature. The clip came with the following caption, "New monsters await. Are you ready? Meet. The. Myriapod."
This is a brief clip, but it’s sure to get fans of the series pumped up for what is coming. Season 2 will follow Geralt of Rivia “convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, who seeks to bring Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”
When previously talking about what we can expect from Season 2, showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich shared that the first episode will adapt Andrzej Sapkowski's short story A Grain of Truth. "It's a story of a father and daughter coming together in a place that doesn't quite feel safe for them," Hissrich said of the tale. "And of course, we really get into Nivellen, who's played by the incomparable Kristofer Hivju. And we get to explore his character and his backstory with Geralt as well. It's really the perfect kickoff for season 2 because it's about family, it's about the secrets we keep from each other, and it's about the monsters that we are inside sometimes."
The show also stars Freya Allan as Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Jodhi May as Calanthe, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson as Eist, Adam Levy as Mousesack, MyAnna Buring as Tissaia, Mimi Ndiweni as Fringilla, Therica Wilson-Read as Sabrina, Emma Appleton as Renfri, Eamon Farren as Cahir, Joey Batey as Jaskier, Lars Mikkelsen as Stregobor, Royce Pierreson as Istredd, Maciej Musiał as Sir Lazlo, Wilson Radjou-Pujalte as Dara), and Anna Shaffer as Triss.
The Witcher Season 2 will premiere on December 17th, 2021.
