MONDAY UPDATES: Cole county reports 72 new coronavirus cases over holiday weekend
The Cole County Health Department reported 72 new coronavirus cases from over holiday weekend.
According to the dashboard update, there are 12,055 residential cases and 288 long-term care facility resident cases. That is 11,982 total cases in the county.
Cole County reports there are 168 coronavirus deaths since the pandemic began.
Cole County ranks 30th in the state for counties with the most coronavirus cases per 100,000 in the past week. Cases are down 19.5% when comparing last week to the prior week. The county has reported a 10.8% positivity test rate, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services .
The Missouri coronavirus vaccine dashboard reports about 52.2% of the county have initiated their first dose of the vaccine and 47.6% of the county's population have been fully vaccinated.
The Jefferson City School District reported no new coronavirus cases in a student or staff member from over the weekend.
The district is reporting no new active cases in students or in staff.
The district is reporting 108 close contacts for students and nine close contacts for staff.
Missouri COVID cases continue to rise over Thanksgiving holiday
Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, Monday is the first day the state COVID dashboard has been updated since Nov. 24.
In the last week, there have been more than 5,200 confirmed PCR COVID-19 cases that were added to the dashboard. According to the dashboard, there have been nearly 739,000 confirmed COVID cases since the start of the pandemic.
According to the state dashboard there have been more than 1,360 probable cases since last Wednesday.
The Missouri COVID-19 dashboard says there have been nine new Coronavirus related deaths since Thanksgiving. There have been more than 12,500 COVID-19 related deaths since March 2020.
The online dashboard stated there are currently 779 patients in Missouri hospitals for COVID-19 with 179 patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
According to the dashboard, Missouri's positivity rate increased by 1.1% now sitting at 10.6%
