(610 Sports) – Patrick Mahomes has athleticism in his genes. Mahomes' father, Pat Mahomes Sr., pitched for 12 seasons in MLB and was a standout on the football field and basketball court, as well. So naturally, we can expect those athletic traits to be passed down to Mahomes' 9-month-old daughter, Sterling.

Joining 610 Sports' The Drive, on Monday, Mahomes was asked if he and his fiancé, Brittany Matthews, a college athlete herself, ever talk about what sport they want, or would like, their daughter to play?

"We do a little bit," said Mahomes. "I mean, obviously, she's gonna play soccer. I mean, between Brittany and our love for soccer, I'm sure she'll be out there kicking it around a little bit."

Matthews, who played college soccer at UT Tyler and professionally in Iceland, is also part of the ownership group for the Kansas City Current women's soccer team, of the NWSL.

Mahomes, who was a high school multi-sport star in Tyler, TX, has the same hopes for his daughter.

"I say that I want her to play golf, and so I told Brittany that she better learn how to play golf because me and Sterling are going out there whenever she's able to swing a club," said Mahomes. "I'm gonna take her out to the golf course and we're gonna figure it out and she'll probably be better than me by like age 15."
