Talbot Interfaith Shelter lighting up downtown Easton for a good cause

EASTON, Md. – Talbot Interfaith Shelter is partnering with the Hummingbird Inn and Easton Economic Development Corporation to light up downtown Easton. “Everybody is working really hard putting up the light displays,” said Maureen Curry, Director of Marketing and Development at the Talbot Interfaith Shelter. “They have literally tripled the amount of displays that we’ll be doing this year. We are so excited about that. We never would have been able to do this by ourselves. It’s totally a group effort.”

Aside from the dazzling displays, organizers say the best part of Home For The Holidays is that it’s all for a good cause. For $10, you can sponsor part of the light display at the Hummingbird Inn. The money donated is going back to the shelter. Curry says the mission is simple: provide some holiday cheer for those who visit the light display, and show some love and care for those in need. “It’s such a special time of year for our guests and our residents in our transitional apartments. We do everything in our power to make sure they have the best Christmas they possibly can. That will not come without a lot of help from our community,” she said.

You can also donate directly to the shelter. To check out the light display, visit the Hummingbird Inn the first three weekends in December 34rd-5th, 10th-12th, and 17th-19th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
