Reba Announces New Restaurant and Music Venue in Oklahoma

Reba McEntire was back on stage and delivering a full show for the first time since March of 2020 on Friday (November 26). But as exciting as the night was for fans in her home state of Oklahoma, the Country Music Hall of Famer had some even more intriguing news to share.

Taking a break during the middle of her concert performance, McEntire announced she’ll open her own restaurant, bar, live-music venue and retail store next year in Atoka, Oklahoma, and she’ll call it simply, “Reba’s Place.”

Making her revelation alongside Chief Gary Batton of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, who have partnered with McEntire for the new venture in the state’s Southeastern corner, McEntire showed off artist renderings of the space, and explained what it will be like. Much like the artist-branded honky tonks found in downtown Nashville, Reba’s Place will feature a large stage surrounded by two floors of dining space, plus a 100-year old bar and retail space, all decorated with an eye towards McEntire’s Western heritage. She plans to include a curated collection of personal items and memorabilia in the charming brick building, which will actually occupy the small community’s century old Masonic Temple. Atoka is home to about 3,000 people, and McEntire was born in nearby McAlester.

“I’m very excited to be opening a place so close to my roots,” she says of the news. “The Choctaw Nation and the city of Atoka are wonderful partners and I can’t wait to welcome our first guests to Reba’s Place. We are working very hard to create something not only for the local community, but that will also bring in folks from across the country.”

A press release about the restaurant says its menu will feature comfort foods like a “Fancy” steak dinner, street tacos, chicken fried steak and Reba’s personal favorite, pinto beans and corn bread, plus scratch-made versions of popular regional dishes and others from Nashville, New Orleans and Mexico. The venue won’t be too far from another country-themed concept, with an outpost of Blake Shelton’s Ole Red located down the road in Tishomingo.

Meanwhile, Reba McEntire just released her three-disc box set, Revived Remixed Revisited, and her Lifetime original movie Christmas In Tune with John Schneider is out now. Her Reba: Live In Concert tour continues with dates across the nation, and she will wrap up her long running Las Vegas residency with Brooks & Dunn in December.
